upcoming events

Church is not where we go, it is what we do. Not just on Sundays, not just with other Kirk folks.

We engage our faith through conversation, service, community, and more.

If one or more of these events gives you energy, or pause come and join us! All are welcome!

  • Christmas Potluck and Celebration: December 8

After our children lead us in worship on Sunday, December 8, we will have a potluck brunch at 11:00 as we share in the joy of the season! Please bring a brunch item to share, be sure to label it for those with food allergies and

    remember: no nuts, please.

  • Blue Christmas: December 22

The Kirk is joining sister churches: 6th Avenue, Wash Park, Salem and Mountain View UCC for a service to hold all the varied emotions of the holidays. On December 22 at 4 p.m., we will gather at 6th Ave UCC, 3250 E. 6th Ave., Denver. As we talk about our expectations for this season, for those who have lost a loved one the expectations of Christmas’s past, feel increased pain at this time of year where the night far outstretches the day. We are joining with our sister churches together as community to name this pain, loss, and grief and to be reminded that we are not missing this season but are stepping into its deepest meaning as we read, “the people who walk in darkness have seen a great light.” As we walk in the shadows of grief, we gather to look for a light that shines even in our sadness. Even if this is not a service you need, consider coming to support those who do.

  • Give the Gift of Water

Last year we planted over 600 trees, most of which in Fondwa, Haiti to provide food, shade and stability to the land around new homes being built through the non-profit Zanmi Foundation.

This year our Green Justice Team is focused on Water and so we are inviting members of the Kirk to purchase as Christmas gifts for friends and family - water! We can purchase a water filtration system for the new homes in Fondwa for $30 each! We will be selling water filtration systems after worship from mid-November through Christmas. With your purchase you will receive a small ornament to be given as a gift with a card

We have begun our year of progressive faith based LGBTQ affirming sexuality education for grades 5-7 The program includes 10 contact hours within the school year. If you have interest of questions about our upcoming programs, contact:
