upcoming events

Church is not where we go, it is what we do. Not just on Sundays, not just with other Kirk folks.

We engage our faith through conversation, service, community, and more.

If one or more of these events gives you energy, or pause come and join us! All are welcome!

  • Denver Pride Parade

We will be marching in Pride along with our UCC

sister churches! The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 16. We will know in the next week our order in the line so we know when we need to be there. Carpool times will be announced in advance.

We will not have worship at the Kirk, but will gather for worship with 6th Ave. UCC located at 3250 E. 6th Ave. at 10 a.m.

  • Food Truck NIghts

Every summer we partner with our neighbors to host Food Trucks on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at the Kirk thought out the summer. Our first food truck night for this year will be on Tuesday, June 11 from 5:30-8 pm in the Kirk parking lot. We invite you to join us and our neighbors as we enjoy good food and get to know one another! We hope all of the Kirk will join us as we build community with each other and our neighbors. (Didn’t Jesus say something about neighbors?!) Oh yes, lets love our neighbors together!

    This weeks food trucks are:

         Burrito Royale

         High Point Creamery

The Kirk will be selling beer and wine in for $5. So that we don't violate our liquor license, we ask that you do not bring in your own alcohol and that all alcohol is consumed on our premises.

  • Theology on Tap

We will gather at Brightmarten at 730 South University from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 23. We will be discussing baptism and the power of water as a part of our summer series: Down by the Riverside. What does baptism mean to you? What does it mean to God? Is the form of baptism fixed or flexible? How does this answer impact the church universal? Come be a part of the conversation.

  • Year of Water: Troubled Water Screening

On Earth Day 2019 our Green Justice Team ended our Year of Trees and began a focus on a Year of Water. As a part of this time of education and action we will be screening a UCC produced film, “Troubled Waters” after worship on June 30 from 11:30-1 p.m. There will be an eco-friendly lunch of beans and rice provided as well as childcare. The film is 60 minutes long and then we will conclude with a discussion. All are welcome to join us.

  • Kirk Camp

The Kirk is going to Camp! August 2-4 we will sing, worship, play, discuss, explore, swim, hike, laugh and much more! While we have had great camping trips in the past, we are making a change in moving to La Foret hoping to draw more folks to join us who might not be so outdoorsy. We have reserved a cabin and two yurts and there is an option for tent camping. Cost is dependent on which accommodation you choose. The cost is $60 per tent, $100 to share a yurt, $150 for a bed in a cabin. The church is hoping to subsidize all children 12 and under to make this affordable for our families. Registration will go live on our website mid-February. If you need scholarship assistance, please talk to Jackie or Selena. You can register for camp and let us know that you're coming by filling out a form here.

We have begun our year of progressive faith based LGBTQ affirming sexuality education for grades 5-7 The program includes 10 contact hours within the school year. If you have interest of questions about our upcoming programs, contact:
