Creating a Sacred Space

As you prepare to gather around your device on Sunday mornings, take a moment to create a space that feels worshipful. Bring a candle and lighter. Gather Communion on June 7 as we share communion together, or every Sunday as many share communion during the postlude each week. Use the prayer offered by Rev. Marlene Urban-Funk in worship on May 24 to bless your space:

In the places that we worship, in our seats, on our couches, or decks - come Spirit come. Encircle all of our dwelling places with your care, O God. Through the gift of technology bring into our homes connections to our family of faith. Make this place in which we worship right now a sanctuary - a safe place where we can celebrate, grieve, fellowship, pray and sing together. Blessed be God who dwells in love. Blessed be God who gives peace and shelter. God, you are ever welcome in our homes. Amen. God of hearth and home, maker of love and laughter, Make this in which we sit and worship a place for reflection and restoration. Make it a place in which we can take sacrament and hear your word. Grieve with us as we grieve a hurting world. Stir in our imaginations as we discern how to serve and care while practicing social distancing. May God bless us and keep us secure in our glory-revealing homes. May we find Christ’s love and understanding. May the eternal Spirit, enfold our sanctuary homes with love, Indwell our homes with joy And build our homes in peace. Evermore and evermore. Amen.

After Worship Check-in

Be sure to stay logged in after worship as we break into small groups and check in with each other. We usually enter into this time with a guiding question as we spend a few minutes visiting with one another as we usually do after worship with a cup of coffee. So grab your coffee, we will provide the company!

Children's Ministry ONline

The children and youth have been meeting with Jackie on zoom several times a week for check in time, stories, and songs. We will be continuing our “lunch bunch” on Tuesdays from 12-12:30 p.m. Please set up lunch so the kids can eat while we talk. We will also continue the check-in time on Thursdays at 7 p.m. Youth group will continue on Thursday nights 7:30 p.m. If you want to include other children or youth in these sessions, please email Jackie. This is a great time to include grandkids or youth friends. Be sure to let Jackie know if you are not getting invites for our kid and youth check in times during the week. We will shift times as school starts so watch for that announcement.
